Sponsorship Not Just Business

Ever since we opened for business back in 1991 SES Autoparts has taken an active involvement in the community, supporting events like Children in need and Red Nose Day.

More recently our involvement has not only grown and become more diverse, but it has intensified too. We believe at SES that while business gives us our livelihoods, it’s only one pillar in the foundations of a thriving society.

The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund

In 2002 a charity was started by the owners of SES Autoparts Ltd the Wilson family in memory of their daughter Lisa who tragically died in a car crash in Australia in 2002. Lisa had graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA 2-1 in Business Management and her reward to herself was a trip around the world. It was during this trip on a journey to Ayres Rock that she tragically died.

The family felt that it was a fitting testimony to Lisa to start a charity in her memory by helping young adults who have overcome adversity by providing bursaries for up to three years to help them fulfill their educational dreams and ambitions it the way that Lisa had. To date over £270,000 has been raised and over eighty young adults have benefitted. This has now become Lisa’s Legacy over 270 years of education as each £1000 represents a year in a students life. A truly fitting Legacy to a wonderful girl.

Socrates

SES Autoparts are proud to sponsor Socrates a three year old racehorse owned by Wilbart Racing. The horse foaled by Lisathedaddy is a half brother to Lisa’s Legacy and Who’sthedaddy who both won twice. Lisa’s Legacy was sold and now races over the sticks in Ireland.

The horse was bred by Trish Wilson and Lisathedaddy was her first racehorse who had four wins and great success on the track in memory of Lisa Wilson who died in Nov 2002. Lisathadaddy was Lisa’s e-mail address and is now the Wilson Families website for the charity they started following Lisa’s death.
